  1. I'd like to know about fees
  2. What fees apply to medical examinations for employment, commercial vehicle licencing or recreation?

1.   I'd like to know about fees

  • We are a private billing practice to allow greater time with each patient to improve the quality of care we provide.  Appointment times are used to minimise waiting times as much as practicable.

  • Our current fee for a standard appointment type is $91. We have a lower fee for pension and concession card holders, which is currently $80 for a standard consultation. You will generally be able to claim a medicare rebate to offset the cost of your consultation.

  • Our fee structure varies depending on the length of your consultation, and in same cases the particular type of consultation. For example antenatal care and some mental health consultations have a different medicare rebate. In general your out-of pocket cost after receiving your medicare rebate will be similar regardless of the length of or type of consultation. An excerpt of our current fees includes:

    • Standard consultation 5 to 20min:    $91   or  $80 (Concession holders)
    • Longer consultation 20 to 40 min:     $160  or  $150
    • Prolonged consultation >40min:        $215  or  $195

  • Please note that for some consultation types you are unable to claim a medicare rebate. These include employment and insurance medical examinations, recreational medical examinations and commercial or heavy vehicle licencing examinations. Please advise our receptionist at the time of booking if you require this type of service and you can enquire as to the estimated cost. A longer consultation will usually be required.

  • For your convenience we offer online claiming of your Medicare rebate.  If requested by yourself at the time of payment, our reception staff will process your claim electronically and the Medicare rebate is usually deposited into your account on the next working day.  Please note that to access this facility you must have provided Medicare with your bank account details.  If you prefer to attend Medicare yourself we will issue you a receipt to present to the Medicare office.

  • Only face-to-face services with your doctor attract a Medicare rebate. For other services which are not subsidised by Medicare a fee may apply. This includes any service your doctor provides without a consultation, including writing repeat prescriptions and last minute specialist referrals.  Please note that legislation does not allow a medicare rebate to be claimed for services relating to occupational, insurance or recreational medical assessments.
    • Currently a fee of $10 is applicable if you require a prescription and are unable to attend an available appointment in time.

  • If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please speak with your doctor as arrangements can be made to help you access health care with us.
